Be Recruitment are supporting a national not-for-profit organisation in recruiting an Assistant Manager of Foster Care. The position is based in Sydney and offers an opportunity to work remotely. 

The position is responsible for ensuring all requirements are met for the young people, families, and carers we support, including the community, the state government, and legislative bodies. 

To be successful

You will be a strong people leader with extensive experience in case management, ideally within Foster Care/Permanency Support programs. A strong commitment to best practices and continuous service improvement is imperative to the success of this position. 

Summary of responsibilities:
  • Support and Supervision: Provide high-quality clinical supervision and practice support to Team Leaders, including onboarding new members, managing reportable conduct incidents, and ensuring compliance with OOHC standards and statutory requirements.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Work with various service providers, including government departments, schools, health services, and allied health providers, to ensure effective service delivery and the implementation of case planning processes for children and young people.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead, supervise, and support Team Leaders to achieve performance expectations, recognise achievements, improve client outcomes, and increase employee engagement. Develop and evaluate learning needs, facilitate learning opportunities, and build team capability.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with all internal and external standards, including accreditation, professional and clinical practice standards, WHS standards, and contract compliance. Monitor and report any operational risks.
  • Quality and Evaluation: Regularly evaluate the quality of service delivery, client plans, and outcomes against service, funding, and compliance objectives. Assist in data collection, analysis, and report writing for evaluation and quality frameworks.
  • Communication and Documentation: Coordinate regular communication channels with Team Leaders, attend and document review meetings, case conferences, and worker consultations. Maintain and share up-to-date knowledge to improve team practice.
  • Community and Profile: Develop and maintain effective relationships with community partners, referral agencies, and community groups. Support the organisation's sector and community profile and assist in implementing improved or new operating models.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a similar or relevant field
  • Five years of experience in a similar setting
  • Three years' management experience leading Child & Family Services
  • Experience managing multiple funding streams or services across a broad geographical location
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and support to direct reports
