This is an outstanding opportunity for a 12-month fixed-term contract with possible extension for an experienced operational leader to shape the future of tenancy services within one of Australia's leading community housing organisations.

Forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead a large, multi-disciplinary tenancy function responsible for delivering high-quality housing services to thousands of customers across metropolitan Sydney.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll influence organisational strategy while ensuring operational excellence, customer experience, workforce capability, and service performance remain at the centre of everything you do.

The Opportunity
You'll lead a significant operational portfolio, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on leadership to ensure services continue to evolve in line with customer needs, legislative reform, and organisational growth.

Working closely with executive colleagues, you'll champion continuous improvement, lead change initiatives, strengthen workforce capability and build a high-performing, customer-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic and operational performance of a large tenancy services portfolio.
  • Drive customer-centred service delivery, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary leadership team.
  • Oversee operational performance, budgets, quality, risk, and compliance.
  • Lead organisational change, digital initiatives, and service transformation.
  • Build strong partnerships across government, community, and sector stakeholders.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing culture focused on exceptional customer outcomes.
About You
You'll be an experienced senior operational leader who has successfully managed large service delivery teams within community housing, human services or another complex customer-focused environment.

You'll bring:
  • Significant leadership experience managing large operational teams.
  • Strong financial, operational and performance management capability.
  • Experience leading organisational change and service improvement.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing people.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • A genuine commitment to social justice, customer outcomes and high-quality service delivery.
Experience within community housing, tenancy services, social housing or a related human services environment will be highly regarded.
